英屬哥倫比亞大學 (University of British Columbia，簡稱UBC)，又名”不列顛哥倫比亞大學”、”卑詩大學”或”卑大”，位於溫哥華市，始建於1908年，是英屬哥倫比亞省最早的大學。前身為麥吉爾大學不列顛哥倫比亞分校，於1915年獲批獨立。該校2017年被加拿大最具權威的《麥克林》雜誌評為加拿大醫學博士類大學第3名。在100多年的時間裡，UBC成為蜚聲全球的研究中心，擁有世界一流的帶有藝術造型的設施，加上它位於氣候宜人、風光如畫的溫哥華市，因此每年吸引了全世界眾多的學子前來就讀。

 

作為不列顛哥倫比亞省歷史最悠久的大學，英屬哥倫比亞大學與多倫多大學、麥吉爾大學並稱加拿大大學”三強”，並與麥吉爾大學和皇后大學組成加拿大的常春藤聯盟；也是大學的國際性協會Universitas 21的創建成員之一。在經歷了百餘年的長足發展後，逐漸成為蜚聲全球的綜合性大學，在加拿大國內的排名中始終保持前三名之列、多次未列北美前十、世界排名保持在35名以內。

 

高中平均成績在80分左右的學生才有資格申請UBC。謙虛、好學、睿智是UBC學生成功的重要因素。自建校以來，大學培養出了許多傑出的人才，他們在各自的領域內發揮的重要的作用。現任加拿大總理Justin Trudeau和歷任加拿大總理John Turner就畢業於這所著名的大學。

英屬哥倫比亞大學位於溫哥華 Vancouver，加拿大第三大城市，也是加拿大最大最重要的港口，世界著名的國際大都市。溫哥華被世界公認為是全球最適宜人類居住的城市。

溫哥華外圍四周盡是自然景致，乘車由大街出發，只需30分鐘，便可以看見大平原，踏在草原上，可感覺心胸廣闊，世界之大與美。

 

溫哥華最大的魅力之一就在於其多元的文化，儘管每個民族、種族與文化各自呈現不同面貌，都各有其獨特的民族性，但他們的共同特徵都是熱情好客。您可以到唐人街品嘗點心和道地的亞洲料理，到羅布森街 (Robson Street)逛一逛人來人往的都會商店，或是到耶魯鎮 (Yaletown)小型娘酒廠的露天陽台上放鬆身心，在蓋士鎮 (Gastown)古色古香的鵝卵石街道上悠閒漫步，以及到格蘭維爾島 (Granville Island)上一家家的市集攤販裡尋寶，溫哥華的各個街區都歡迎您前往一遊。

 

溫哥華溫潤的春季與夏季非常適合T恤和短褲，但早晚會有溫差，所以夜晚還需要做好保暖的動作；在冬天，一件雨衣或中等厚度的防水外套是必須的，裡面可搭配發熱衣或毛衣，下半身可著暖和的長怒和褲襪，隨身攜帶雨傘或雨衣是必須的，很多本地人冬季喜愛穿羽絨外套和背心

學校設施                                                                                                    

英屬哥倫比亞大學有兩個主要校區，分別是溫哥華校區(主校區)和奧坎納根校區。溫哥華校區位於加拿大第三大城市溫哥華的市郊，距離溫哥華只有30分鐘的車程，占地400公頃，校園外另有12,000公頃的森林和農場。此大學的科學研究很突出，有17個研究院，50個研究中心，8個跨學科研究組織和3個醫院，從事著8,000多個研究項目。大學從政府、公司、非營利組織每年吸引5億美元的資金。大學圖書館是全加拿大第三大圖書館。校園裡還有美術館、博物館等。大學裡共有370個社團俱樂部。此外，溫哥華校區還有該城市最吸引人的許多學術及休閒娛樂設施，包括人類學博物館、表演藝術中心、UBC植物園和植物研究中心等。溫哥華校區是UBC最大的校區，學生人數超過45,000名。奧坎納根校區開放於2005年9月，是個獨具特色的小型大學校園，該校區在校人數約為5,325名，教職員工達700多名，共設有7個院系。此外，還另有Robson Square和Great Northern Way兩個校區。

 

住宿相關                                                                                                    

在英屬哥倫比亞大學主校區內有一部分住房開放給研究生申請，也有一部分校內的私人住房招租，而校外的住宿也有眾多選擇。要租住校內住房有兩種方式，一是向學校直接申請，二是租住人家申請到的房子。若是要向學校直接申請，建議申請時間越早越好，最好是拿到offer後就開始申請，因為學校住房相當有限，基本上都要等上幾個月才能輪到；而拿到住房offer後需看清楚回復的時間，及時回覆和繳納押金和第一個月租金；此外，入住後半個月內先檢查清楚房內設施有無損壞，若有任何損壞需及時報告給相關人員，不然之後屋內設施的損壞皆會被學校罰款。

入讀英屬哥倫比亞大學使學生能夠充分享受加拿大名校的高質量教學和學術累積。在這一百多年的時間裡，UBC為世界各國培養了無以數計的頂尖人才，他的聲譽廣為流傳。

此校的科研很出色，共設置了4個聯邦政府資助的研究中心，重點研究病菌病理、蛋白質工程、疾病遺傳基因和國際發展問題，此外還有圖書館、美術中心、亞洲中心、地質學和動物學博物館、日本植物研究所等專門的研究機構及設施。作為加拿大最高的研究學府之一，UBC提供多種教學大綱和學習機會，並允許學生自由選課；UBC定期邀請國際知名學者、科學家到該校做學術報告，學生在這裡可以了解當今的學術動態。學校設有農業經濟學、動物學、森林資源管理、計算機學、營養學、石油勘探工程、地理學、藝術、英語、歷史、德語研究等70多個專業，能授予學士、雙學士、碩士及博士學位。中等和特殊教育的教師培訓及法學、醫學和牙科的職前培訓也是學校的教育內容之一。
